The set features five lighthouses:
- Portland Head, Maine;
- Point Judith, Rhode Island;
- New London Harbor, Connecticut;
- Boston Harbor, Massachusetts;
- and one featuring our friends over at the Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse in New Hampshire!

The Lighthouse
ScarfShawl!Remember waaaay back in 2011 when I started this project at the Rose Island Lighthouse? First glimpse here. Second glimpse here (at the Saugerties Lighthouse). As you can see, it started out as a scarf.
Somewhere along the way, I ended up not liking how this project was turning out. The bumpy yarn wasn’t showing off the scarf pattern in its Swiss Cheese-y awesome-ness. So, I decided last week that I would turn the scarf into this shawl.
I think it fits the lighthouse keeper theme better, don’t you? Imagine bundling yourself up in this and walking the catwalk around the lantern room.
Yarn: Revelation (100% wool) in Turquoise by Lorna’s Laces
Shawl Pattern: NobleKnits Easy One-Skein Shawl(This pattern was so fun and easy that I’m knitting another shawl. Here is a photo of it from where I sit and knit.)

Tawas Point Lighthouse on Lake Huron in Michigan.
Yesterday, Steve and I (Neptune’s Car) played a one-hour set at the Flint Folk Festival in Flint, Michigan. Today was our day off, so we went lighthouse exploring! Tomorrow, we have a ninety-minute show in Atlanta, Michigan.

Steve and I (Neptune’s Car) are on our way to Baltimore, Maryland, to open for David Mallett at The Cellar Stage. Just by luck, I spotted a sign on the highway for a lighthouse!
